11/21 comic: Who buys groceries every day?

Why's Lemont buying groceries two days in a row? Who does that? Most people only have time to go once a week.

We have to remember Lemont just came back from a very heavy trip to find McCain's lost honor, and probably needs to re-stock his refrigerator.

I thought of that too -- because in fact I often buy groceries two or more days in a row. I find if I buy too much at a time, I forget about stuff and it goes bad in the back of the fridge. So I usually only buy what I'm going to eat for the day.

And besides, Lemont's a freelance writer. Puttering around the grocery store and finding all kinds of other little household tasks to distract one from the work at hand is part of the job.

Exactly. Cruising through Ralph's on the way home from hiking (to pick up dinner ingredients or just to people-watch) is usually part of my daily routine. It's what some do if their job is writing about people.

He's taking care of John Edward's love child, his best friend gets bailouts from the government, he's been captured by government spies, he's been involved with a number of strange and unusual circumstances, and you question why he might be in a grocery store two days in a row???

Yes, I go to the large market once a week. We have small stands, however, where it is acceptable to purchase nappies and other items on other days. It is not unheard of for people in my town to buy perishables every few days.
