Email subscription- images not showing up

I've been subscribed to the email version of the strip for awhile now. I have never seen the strip display in the email, instead there is a spot where a broken image icon appears, and if I click on that I get taken to the daily strip.

Is this an issue with me, are things broken, or is this how it is intended to show? I notice that the broken image points to a link to the day's page itself, rather than the image.

Well, of course it takes us to the page rather than the image. How else can the cartoonist get pageviews that translate into ad revenue? Gotta pay the bills somehow.

I don't mind. If the image showed up in the email, I'd never visit the site, and I like the site. I see it as a daily reminder.

Well, my thought was why bother putting what appears to be an attempt at an image there? The link is already in the title.

I have subscribed by email to several strips in the past, and still do for some. All of them include the image of the strip. They also usually contain ads - Dilbert's daily email includes a banner and some google ads. The daily Sheldon email includes the strip, some recent blog posts, and several ads for items in his store.

If the intent is to direct me to the site, that's fine. The way the email shows up, though, it looks like something is broken.

While I do prefer that people visit the site, I don't want to send out broken images. It's not supposed to happen. But somewhere in my Wordpress installation or my Comicpress theme, there's a line of code that hasn't been rerouted through the correct flux capacitor, and it's just not working for me. Since Google Feedburner is the best and most used RSS service, and I know I'd lose hundreds of subscribers if I moved it elsewhere, I'm stuck with it.

The good news is the site's being redesigned and the designer assures me the broken image will be replaced with the actual strip once the redesign goes live. I have no idea when that'll be, but it should be soon.

In the meantime, I'm not sure how to get rid of the broken image. If someone familiar with Feedburner or Wordpress wants to tell me how to do that, I will.
