I heard that the higher court agreed to take up the issue of the legality of Prop 8. What did they decide?

Today, Dec. 10th was supposed to be a "call in Gay" to work day, to show the economic impact of the gay community on society. I wonder if it worked, and if so, will it be announced over the media?

No news yet. When a decision is made some time this year (and that's about the best I can do, I'm afraid: "some time this year"), I'm sure everyone in the country will hear about it.

I saw a small sentence way back in the newspaper that said it is still being considered. What is taking so long? Do you think they just keep shuffling issues on paper and someone is putting it at the bottom of the heap?

Courts like to go slow. There's real value to stopping and thinking about what you're doing rather than making a snap judgment based on gut reactions and a vague ideology. [Insert George Bush joke here]

The best George Bush joke I know is the visual of when he announced he would get Osama Bin Ladin dead or alive. He sounded as if he were a cowboy little kid with a cowboy hat on, and holding a toy gun out.

The CA Supreme Court will begin haring arguments on March 5. At issue is whether the change to the Constitution is serious enough to have required a 2/3 vote instead of a simple majority.

I would think exempting an entire class of people from equal protection is serious enough. The equal marriage crowd has a very good argument to make.
