Before the Nineties, when pretty much the entire United States still used paper ballots, we often had results within three or four hours after the polls closed. Hand-counting doesn't take much longer than that because votes are counted locally in ...

I'm probably going to forget about brick & mortar stores AND Amazon this time and sell it only through candorville.com and at comic cons.

I'm putting it together now (takes quite a while to format everything). Long story short, it'll be out sometime this summer.

UPDATE: Seattle Pushes Back Cancellation Date

ATTENTION SEATTLE READERS:

Your e-mails and phone calls to the Seattle Times may be having an impact. They originally planned to cancel Candorville as of November 22, but now they've pushed that back to December 21 (which'll be too bad, because I've written a Christmas sequence that I'm sure you're going to like, especially if you're a C-Dog fan). So keep it up, if you want to see Candorville stay in your paper, now's your chance. They're paying attention to you.

If you're… Continue

Thank you, thank you, thank you SO much for commenting on the "gay thing" the country has going right now. I really bothers me that there are so many people so riled up about this issue that some have come to violence to decide the answer. I'm not going to say which is the right stance on this issue, I'm just going to invite people to block out for a microsecond what their parents have taught them about this, think about it a little bit, and come to a conclusion themselves.
~Still, Darrin, thanks again.

How did you decide to use Hitchhiker's Guide and Dr. Who references. If I wasn't already a fan those references would have sealed my loyalty.

I'll cc this here, so people can see my reply to Carole:

Oh, I see. My "comments" are in bad taste.

But McCain employing the same people who smeared his wife and baby in South Carolina in 2000 is fine? McCain blatantly lying about his opponent's record and positions (perhaps you missed the spate of articles last month detailing lie after lie in McCain's recent ads) even after being called in it is fine? McCain approving an ad implying Obama's some sort of sexual deviant with inappropriate thoughts about kindergarteners, when in fact the bill Obama supported would have taught kindergarteners to protect themselves from sexual predators -- that was honorable?

This Candorville series about an attempt to rescue McCain's honor was ENTIRELY called for by John McCain himself. Instead of shooting the messenger, you should reflect on whether McCain has been behaving like the honorable man he professes to be.

Honorable men don't lie about their opponents. Honorable men don't lie about themselves. Honorable men don't employ the people who maligned their wives and babies. Honorable men don't oppose Jim Webb's veterans bill and then try to claim credit for it after it's passed. Honorable men don't say they're suspending their campaign while at the same time keep airing campaign ads in battleground states.

And if you want to put a bullet between the eyes of someone merely because that person points this out, you don't know what America stands for and you don't deserve to call yourself an American.

Your "cartoon" about McCain leaving his honor in a POW camp has nothing to do with my disagreeing with you. Those comments are in bad taste and un called for.

Wow, I just read Carole's comment. She's really angry? Then why is she reading your comics? And, I thought words like hers are threats and are against the law. Unfortunately for her, mean thoughts like that might come back to her in Karma. By the way, I AM a real American and I don't think that your commentary about McCain's lost honor has ANYTHING to do with vets and has EVERYTHING to do with McCain USING his vet status to push him to the top. I can think of MANY vets who have returned from POW camps who have MUCH BETTER Presidential qualifications and yet they are being stomped on by McCain and his Republican ignorances and apathy. Where were the Republicans when the returning vets from Iraq were turned down for medical benefits from the VA? Or made to pay them by themselves or to repay the government? Don't worry, Darrin, about comments like Carole's. The rest of us understand that it has to do with McCain USING our vets for his own gain.
